Doesn't seem like trolling at all.

Molinaro was exactly what Robie needed on his staff, an Olympian , an active international competitor, who gives the Hokies an assistant that all recruits have seen wrestle.

Frayer also has that Olympic background and a solid coaching resume. In addition to serving as VT coach Frayer will be essential in keeping Molinaro competition-ready.

I don't think "sticking in to Metcalf" was ever a consideration for Robie. He needed to make a statement with the hire, letting the wrestling community know that he is committed to VT's status as an elite program.
