As much as I can't stand Kelly, he is right in this case ...

ND football is slowly wilting on the vine without full conference membership. They will continue to have a difficult time recruiting against the P5 schools until they have an opportunity to play in a conference championship game. The NBC TV contract is no longer the carrot that it once was for kids.
