Couple things

you're in an R&R spot. No putt putts or wax museums. I'll be a little south in Avon. You can go see the lighthouse though thats not too exciting. You can day trip to ocracoke island. Thats a ferry ride (car goes too) from hatteras so its a pretty lengthy round trip. Ocracoke has nice beaches and its a pretty cool little island. Couple restaurants/bars. Drink, explore and maybe rent bikes or golf carts.
Along the beaches near where you are staying down to hatteras you can actually bring your vehicle onto the beach. This is pretty cool. 4wd def recommended. You need a pass that you can buy online or at the park service stations there. Its $50 for 10 days.
Theres always surf fishing. There are alos good charters for fishing in hatteras and oregon inlet if you want to spend $
Area is a kite boarding meca if you want to take lessons for that
Other than that just drink eat and relax. Rinse repeat
