I buckle up every single time.
And I refuse to move my car until my passengers are buckled up.
My mother-in-law "forgets" consistently. I'll go pick her up and she gets in the car and just sits there. I finally have to say "put on your seatbelt and I'll start backing out". She always says "i would have gotten around to it", but I refuse to go.
My grandmother and grandfather were in a car accident when they were 65. This was before seatbelts. My grandmother was thrown from the car and had sever brain damage. She couldn't take care of herself and her short term memory was gone. So basically she had severe dementia and then lived another 31 years like that.
Yep. We have always used seatbelts in our family.
