Mike Golic told a humorous (and sad) story on Mike and Mike a few years ago about this. When his sons were at Notre Dame, he told them it was in their best interests to send their mom a birthday card. One of the cards was held with 'postage due'. One of his kids put a 1-cent stamp on the envelope and put it in the mail. When asked why, he said 'I picked the cheapest option'. Amazing that a college kid (at Notre Dame no less) didn't know how much postage to put on a card. I blame the parents ... not sure my kids would know either. :)
