Any loss was expected. The nature of wrestling can see a team lose 10 one-point matches and get shut out 30-0.

It's one of the flaws in our dual meet scoring system, but it's the one we have. How can you adequately judge if a team is #6 or #9 on the basis of that loss? You can't. They dropped (adequately) in my opinion, but I'm also not a deciding factor in how people vote.

My experience comes from coordinating this poll AND having spent eight years working at an AP-voting sports department in the print media. I think sometimes wrestling fans (not specifically this group or this conversation) need to put more of a "sports" perspective on polls, taking into account the fluidity of other sports' polls and on the other hand, taking a more wrestling view of things knowing the nuances of a dual meet loss. If they got beat 50-3, that's a bit different. Coaches are looking at the individual matchups within a dual, not just the "final" score.
