For the sake of argument, a counterpoint


Somewhat hypothetical argument here, since I know nothing of the man.

Let's say that this person happens to be an outstanding pastor and an outstanding church leader. Let's say his spiritual guidance has had a positive influence on thousands of lives and the outreach programs he leads have changed thousands more.

His actions years ago don't really change that.

I kinda look at this a bit like Bobby Petrino being your football coach. There is a job that you hired him to do (which he is good at). And then there are the embarrassing things he does that have nothing to do with the job you hired him to do. Being an embarrassment doesn't somehow make him less qualified to do the job you hired him for.
