Hokieonceremoved and I got cheap business class airfare from LAX to Singapore last Thanksgiving. I have no idea about economy class but business (they didn't have 1st class) was far and away the most amazing comfort and service I've ever had on a plane and that includes Emirates. The seats, the food and the service were ridiculously good.

I just got back on Saturday from a weeklong trip to Hungary. I flew United from Frankfurt to SFO. I used miles and flew economy because I was flying solo. There was not a flight attendant in economy under the age of 70 and I am not exaggerating. One of them had an osteoporosis hump and walked with a pronounced limp. I am not ageist, but I don't think flight attendant is a job for septuagenarians who tire from being on their feet. I compare this with the flight attendants on our 16.5-hour flight from Doha to LAX that friggin' HUSTLED the entire flight.

Qatar airways is the bomb. If you can do it (especially if you can fly business class), do it. ps-the new A350 is a tremendous aircraft. Interior ceiling feels like it's 10' tall.
