Olive oil and marinades can make an average steak taste much better BUT


there's no substitute for good cuts of beef. I reverse sear on the ceramic egg when the wife wants steak because she really likes the wood fired flavor and I sous vide to 120 and then flash sear on a cast iron skillet when it's just me. As far as seasonings, it's typically just salt and pepper for the cook and then when I pull them off the grill or out of the pan, I'll wrap them in a "tented" aluminum foil with a pad of butter on top with a sprig of rosemary for about 5 minutes to rest.
