I used a dvd that I burned the ISO too and installed on an open SSD...

I've read that you can use a bootable thumb drive (I do have USB 3.0 ports) but I've never tried it.

Installation was a breeze. There is more to do than installing Windows but nothing difficult. You just have to set your root directory and swap drive in order to install on the hard drive.

I've got Windows 10 and Mint 18.3 installed on two separate SSD's and at boot up I choose which drive I want to go into.

You can also choose a dual boot with Windows and Mint on the same hard drive. At boot you just chose which OS to go into.
