Four Turbos, One BMW X3! Alpina’s Latest Is This Insane Diesel XD3

This is the Alpina XD3, a quad-turbo BMW X3 that is a particularly ferocious and fuel-efficient crossover SUV. It will be making its debut at the Geneva auto show.

Under the hood is BMW's most powerful turbo-diesel engine, a 3.0-liter straight-six with no fewer than four turbos, 382 horsepower, and 568 lb-ft of torque from as little as 1750 rpm.

Alpina promises a zero-to-62-mph time of 4.6 seconds and a 165-mph top speed, which is nearly in line with the 355-hp 2018 X3 M40i we tested.
