Generally, they put that note there to be sure the list of repairs are by


people qualified to do the work. If you’re not an asphalt contractor or licensed general contractor you won’t be able to get away with it. They will expect to see the paperwork to prove it. On the other hand the driveway crack was not a condition “revealed” by an inspector. It was there to see when they originally saw the house. I offer two suggestions. 1. Tell them that you won’t fix the driveway as it was a known condition and was part of your acceptance of their original offer. 2. Tell them the above, but offer to seal the driveway yourself.
