You will be hard pressed to do that trip with out 2 Layovers

Delta used to have a Nonstop from ATL to JNB and South African has a nonstop from JFK but other than that you are looking at a stop in London, Dubai or Ghana (even if it is a gas and go)
I'e done on British and hada good experience, My dad has done it on South African and Emirates (both wonderful he said) as well as BA.
