Thanks for sharing - you say its crazy for the schools to offer? Well it
may be a bit crazy for schools to offer this early - the fact is, that they are doing it because they are allowed too and believe it gives them an edge or advantage - the system allowed it to happen and competition to get the good players interested in your school drove back to younger ages and of course "less of a sure thing".
I'm not sure I understand your strong VT slant in your replyI do know that CST wanted her to come to VT but I dont know what they did to get her. Denny T her coach is pretty tight with UGa head coach as wellwas prior to AT getting the coaching job at VT.
Think of high powered teams NOT recruiting at young ages and losing out on players while other teams pass them bycoach would be gone in a few yrs if not willing to change process and the team was losingoh the cry of the "fans"!
I am glad the recruiting is being limited to Jr yearbut while its not, the smart teams are cherry picking early and IMHO are not crazy. If the 12-13 yr old flames out by 17, she may lose her scholly and that is just part of itsad but honest part of it. Why should a player that has lost their desire to play or has not developed as hoped get the scholly? I submit its just "fair" that a better player gets it later.
C) is the answer for me - change the rules of the system to fix it.
