The place the salary is coming from is not infinite, there is a cap


but so far I have never seen anyone that was forced to be a teacher. Of course the way to pay them more is for the state to cut back on other areas, say infrastructure or raise taxes, so it is a zero sum game for the teachers. Eventually the point will be hit when you cannot tax enough due to lack of people paying taxes and rates that are too high.
