On the other hand...

My SIL is a phys. ed./wellness teacher in a public school in MA. She has about 30 years as a teacher and makes over $80K/yr. She just filed for retirement and will actually bring home more pay in retirement than she does currently. She is younger than my wife or myself and we will likely have to keep working another 6 or 7 years to age 70, since we don't have a government pension (just SS and IRA/401k).
