Even if they didn't directly make a buck off it, it doesn't mean


they weren't indirectly involved or "blessed" it at some level. Plus, they could still make a buck indirectly through the exposure gained from it. It wouldn't be that much different then when a wrestler decides to do some acting on the side. When the movie/TV show decides to promote the wrestler (as an actor) then it typically involves making reference to the wrestling organization.

For example Capt Lou Albano was in the movie Body Slam and made several TV appearances. I suspect any time the promotion of the movie/TV show mentioned him, it also mentioned that he worked for the WWF.

I have often wondered how many new fans Metallica has gained because VT uses Enter Sandman when entering Lane Stadium. Metallica is probably earning some revenue (outside of royalties) because of the increased exposure through VT. It would be the same thing for the WWE.
