And they don't want to continue to pay the expense to maintain it our renovate it. I had hoped they might add another program like gymnastics, hockey, etc. that would need a facility to keep it in use just for the nostalgia of it. But if we added one of those, they'd probably want a brand new modern area or use JPJ instead. UVA has been talking about demolishing U-Hall for at least a decade. The time has now come.

Craig Littlepage had wanted to replace it with an Indoor Track and Field complex. But it looks like it will be practice fields instead at least for the time being. The indoor practice facility for football has been there for several years now. What they are going to do is build a new football operations center there, and then move the locker rooms and offices of what they are moving out of U-Hall into the current football operations center when football moves out of it.
