"They" can suck it...provided you and the 7th grader are comfortable


Let the 7th grader spend some time the Khan Academy (online and free) if some additional prep is needed.

"They" told me I was not "college material" despite having the highest SAT scores in my graduating class. Why? Because I was poor, white trash and "they" wanted to push me towards vocational classes. I took every advanced class my high school offered and managed just fine. I've often had thoughts of going find "them" and slapping "them" across the face with engineering degree from VT.

Bottom line you and the 7th grader know what best for the 7th grader.
