The reason teams have traditionally publicized starters is that


the advantage of "surprise" would only work once. If you started to play games with hiding your starting pitchers, other teams would return the favor and then you would be guessing as to who they would start.

Of course, it would benefit some teams more than others (e.g. if all of your starters are right handed, other teams probably wouldn't care too much).
