If you throw aluminum cans in the recycling bin and wonder if you are

throwing away money...here is my experience. My family of four is a typical consumer of aluminum cans...beer and soft drinks mainly. About 3 years ago I started throwing all the aluminum cans in a separate bin. When I got enough I would crush them (mainly by stomping on them) and bag them up. When I had accumulated 7-8 large yardwork size bags I went to a recycling center that buys metal. After probably 10-15 hours of stomping and collecting over the three years...my windfall? $33.00 and change.
