You sure you want to buy with your tendency to move employment?


Selling in a few years is a recipe for a financial loss. Renting is not as easy as it looks, esp. for out of town owners. Keep in mind that if you keep the house then that may stop you from getting a house in your new location after you move so just renting it works if you have available cash to prove to the mortgage company that you can handle two mortgages. There is no guarantee you can get renters and no guarantee they pay the rent or do not tear up the place.
