They don't love playing the game

I watched a lot of the Royals 2012-2016, living in Omaha that's the team that was on FoxSports Midwest every night. Plus the AAA team was in Omaha, so we went to quite a few Stormchasers games and they were very much a team built through the farm system so we saw some players come up through AAA in those years.

The thing that struck me about those teams, culminating in the WS appearance in 2014 and victory in 2015. They loved playing together. Great culture. Reveled in victory and supported and celebrated each other. It made me realize what an impact a manager can have on a team. They had good team talent, but not great, but a great plan and a great culture.

The Nats (my favorite team and the one I watch almost every night now) are the opposite. And they've clearly regressed with Martinez. They need to get Ned Yost.
