Yeah, just looked at the satellite shot of that area.


That is not that big of a "lake". And immediately noticed the sedimentation you mentioned. It may be 17' deep at the dam, but I bet it gets real shallow real quick the further upstream you get.

Your going to get the same pressure on the dam regardless, but the volume of water that's going to go downstream looks somewhat "meh" to me. If it breaches, it's going to go fairly slow as dam breaches go because you just don't have the water volume behind it to make it very destructive. Yes, someone on the road or close to the dam break could be in jeopardy, but this doesn't seem as big a deal as everyone is touting.
