Do you think people would donate to academics?

I don't see it and have a small piece of data to support it.

My kids HS has an academic booster club. They get about $5k a year. The athletic boosters last year raised $75k. This at a school where over 80% of graduates go to college and in the district where all the doctors, lawyers and Indian chiefs live in the area, so the value of education is understood.

I think most people consider their taxes and tuition for their kids enough when it comes to paying for education.
