I kinda feel they're political engines, student aid is not for students...

it's getting more money to the facilty, so of course there's a student loan crisis, once they've been paid what do they care? In turn, they vote for the party that sends more money to universities, both in terms of student loans and reseach projects or even more disengenuously, do studies that support the party in power. (I bet every study ends with "devote more resources to solving this problem"
