Kind of like "had to walk uphill in the snow -- both ways." ;-)

So on that note Dietrick is actually included in my itinerary as a potential downer for him to consider. Although he'll be entering as a transfer student (he's in early college) so he may bypass a significant part of the on-campus experience altogether. The on campus residential arrangement is one of those things about which we will need to get the straight skinny.

He's super familiar with Blacksburg. We're kind of local in that we are there on almost a monthly basis on average. BHS is a frequent non-district opponent of his high school in a few sports, and he and his brothers play travel soccer against teams sponsored by New River United on a regular basis. He readily admits that his comfort level there and the whole "family tradition" angle are big parts of his decision making -- but not the biggest.
