Trying to decide if I should be outraged over all this Fyre stuff
Documentaries and news stories all over the place, best I can tell it's related to this absurd culture where morons will pay huge amounts of money to attend parties because people who are mostly famous for being famous and getting paid to go to parties where people pay to go to parties that they'll be at (kind of a circular thing here).
So some dude decides to set up the ultimate scam and/or gets in way over his head in trying to make money by getting morons to pay to come to a party. Pays people to say they'll be there and sells tickets for $1,000 to $25,000. Idiots rain money down on him and get shafted as he can't deliver anything close to what he said.
OK, obviously he owes money back, he's in jail for related fraud and there was probably some fraud involved here...but I'm really having trouble feeling bad for people who shell out big bucks to go to parties so they can see people like Kardashians, who's total claim to fame is they are willing to do anything for money on camera and stupid people are willing to shell out huge amounts of money to watch them.
Am I wrong for laughing at those that got taken by the latest PT Barnum?
