Friends used to rent a cabin on the campground for their annual Halloween

party. It really is a nice area! Watch out for coyote attacks, though. 😉

Now.... since 9/11, security to get onto Fort Story is vigilant. Used to be you could just drive up to the gate and tell the guard you were going to the campground and they would wave you through. Last time I went to First Landing (admittedly, it's been over 10 years) we had to answer a ton of questions, fill out an information card, and submit to a vehicle search inside and out.
