Now I see why we look at it differently.


You have the experience of being a fan, then having that fandom diminished based on how the organization was run.

Using your own two examples, there is absolutely nothing NASCAR or MLB could do to get me as a fan. The fundamental core being of those two sports is inherently uninteresting to me.

So to you, how well an organization is run is the biggest factor. But I look at the mechanics of the sport itself and whether that could be interesting.

Regardless, I do think both are in play for soccer. It certainly could be bigger if it were run better. But I also think its ceiling is lower than football or basketball, and will stay that way for at least two more generations.
