I think what it comes down to is, if I had to do it, I'd take some time


to learn how and then do it. For example, I could learn how to tile a bathroom; however, getting the time to do it, then doing it well just isn't worth it when I can pay someone $500 to do it in a day and it look 5x better than my first attempt.

Millennials just value their time differently. It's much easier to find a reputable tradesman to do the work you need to do. Also, there is so much more red tape to do things nowadays vs 40 years ago when you could redneck engineer your way through most situations and have no repercussions down the road.
