Grew up nearby. Good news is Seneca Lake


Is one of the coldest bodies of water in NY. So if you need to cool off...

Little known history nugget: the concert at Watkins Glen had an estimated 600,000 in attendance, almost 200,000 more than most Woodstock estimates. My hometown is 15 miles away and people were parked near us on the interstate and walked/hitched to the event. Grocery stores all around were cleared out.

Enjoyed many a NASCAR race in 80s and early 90s there.
