Ring your growing area with two levels of the fishing line.

Deer can't see it and back away when they bump into it. It's strong enough to not break unless they blast through it.

Sometimes, I even thread the line all through my garden so that navigating the garden to pick is like Tom Cruise in that early Mission Impossible where he has to negotiate the lasers to snatch the prize.
