They didn't play in a championship game in 2018.

They did play in a playoff game, which is like a bowl game. I get that ND fans keep saying "That's what ND is.".

It's limiting. And because they don't use the same logic about basketball, lacrosse, and other sports makes it silly to the outside world. But that's what they want to do.
