John Q Moneybags decides to start himself up a charitable organization. And it will be a legitimate one, for real.
But they hire local college athletes as spokesmen. As a charity they don't really need to be profitable, they just need to make sure whatever % of the donations get handed out to the poors as the law requires.
Now, not only can boosters funnel money to athletes, they can do it in a nice tax-deductible fashion.
