It's a mix, imo
I have 2 acres (in NH) to deal with so not a small task. Early in the season, I run the tractor over the sugar maple leaves which are smaller and lighter. When the come down heavier, I start to blow them away because mulching all of them would not be good. Even in small pieces, they would smother the grass.
Now, oak leaves are coming down and they are bigger, thicker, and more acidic so I just blow them away.
Note: I am fortunate to have an additional acre of woods that I can dispose of leaves in so I do minimal raking. If I can't blow the leaves straight into the woods, I collect them on a tarp and drag it into the woods to get rid of them. [Post edited by MAHokie69 at 11/04/2019 4:06PM]
