I disagree
Using the system I outlined in another thread, the placements for the quarter finals for 2013 through 2018 using the ranking system to determine 1 vs 2 during those years:
* teams in the left column host the quarter final games
2013:
#1 Florida State vs #7 Ohio State
#2 Auburn vs. #3 Alabama (rematch from CCG the previous week)
#3 Michigan State vs. #15 UCF
#4 Stanford vs. #6 Baylor
2014:
#1 Alabama vs. #7 Mississippi State (rematch from CCG the previous week)
#2 Oregon vs. #6 TCU
#3 Florida State vs. #20 Boise State
#4 Ohio State vs. #5 Baylor
2015:
#1 Clemson vs. #5 Iowa
#2 Alabama vs. #8 Notre Dame
#3 Michigan State vs. #18 Houston
#4 Oklahoma vs. #6 Stanford
2016:
#1 Alabama vs. #6 Michigan
#2 Clemson vs. #5 PennState
#3 Ohio State vs. #15 Western Michigan
#4 Washington vs. #7 Oklahoma
2017:
#1 Clemson vs. #6 Wisconsin
#2 Oklahoma vs. #4 Alabama
#3 Georgia vs. #12 UCF
#5 Ohio State vs. #8 USC
2018:
#1 Alabama vs. #7 Michigan
#2 Clemson vs. #3 Notre Dame
#4 Oklahoma vs. #8 UCF
#6 Ohio State vs. #9 Washington
Apperances - Team - Number of time as host:
6 -Alabama - 4
5 - Ohio State - 4
4 Clemson - 4
4 Oklahoma - 3
2 Florida State - 2
2 Michigan State - 2
2 Stanford - 2
2 Michigan - 1
2 Washington -1
1 Auburn - 1
2 Baylor - 0
1 Iowa - 0
1 Mississippi State - 0
1 Penn State - 0
1 TCU - 0
1 USC - 0
1 Wisconsin - 0
Using my set up, both Notre Dame and the G5 participant will always be visiting.
2 Notre Dame
3 UCF
1 Boise State
1 Houston
1 Western Michigan
So, even though Alabama would have been in each playoff, it would only host 2 of those, being a visitor twice.
