Sear a 4 pound pot roast in oil with garlic. Set that pan aside for gravy.


Add 4 cups of better than bouilion beef broth. Salt and Pepper and put your roast in. 1-2 cups each of cut up carrotts, potatoes, onion, celery if you like. Add mushrooms with one hour to go if you like 'em. Ask grandma nicely if her mashed potatoes are done. Make gravy with water and milk and flour in the skillet you seared the roast. Use the gravy on the roast and the mashed potatoes. Cook for 8 hours on low allowing the house to fill up with a smell that makes you hungrier as the day goes on. Serve. Enjoy!
