I have a home theater system...
And since I bought my 5.1 system, I have seen probably 7 movies in theaters over the last 4 years. I don't miss it.
I went to the Grandin when I was in Roanoke over Christmas to see the new Star Wars movie and the girl who sat behind us coughed the entire movie. Every 20 seconds. It was terrible.
If you love movies then it's worth the investment. My setup including TV cost me about $1500. If you own your own home and thus can go a little higher quality in the subwoofer department, you can get a really nice, almost theater quality setup for about $2500.
