Bug is going to bug. It's been out of the proverbial barn for months now. Cases will increase.

Think of it this way - if they did demand such data from folks (of questionable legality if "forced"), what would the state/local govetnments do with such data if it turns out a whole bushfire is associated with things since memorial day? They can't stop the protesting, even if they tried to.
