Middle and high school are going to be worthless if they have block sched


From what my wife (a teacher) says, at least in Fairfax County the plan is to have all classes each day, albeit shorter than normal. Otherwise, you'd only be seeing students once a week and that's pointless.

My thought -- and I say this as a firm believer in the arts -- is that for a year we should bite the bullet and screw the electives. Make those asynchronous on Mondays, when the kids are all home. Pair the elective teachers up with a subject teacher to help carry the load for English, math, science, etc. The subject teacher can share his/her lesson plans and the elective teacher just needs to carry them out at the same pace.

There's no way these kids are going to get ANY learning in the half hour of instruction time they're going to have in each class.
