Sure seems like the objective is a moving target

Are we trying to flatten the curve and keep the healthcare system from being overwhelmed (which for the most part, we've done)? Are we trying to eradicate the disease before a vaccine is available (unrealistic)? Are we trying to achieve something close to herd immunity before we can get a vaccine (in which case starting to expose people, esp. young, healthy ones, is probably a good idea)?

Can we at least agree on what we are trying to do? Maybe once we do that, agreeing on how to get there would be easier.
