The updated guidance they're talking about is in reference to the fact that current CDC guidelines are impractical.

“We don’t want the guidance from CDC to be a reason why schools don’t open,” Pence said. “I think that every American, every American knows that we can safely reopen our schools. . . . We want, as the president said this morning, to make sure that what we’re doing doesn’t stand in the way of doing that.”

So ... They aren't going to be giving any new help. They're going to be watering down the old guidelines to make them easier to follow. When safety is too expensive, I guess, we need to require less of it.
