information, regardless of the slant. The context of information is never included. I am so skeptical of everything, I’m mad that I can’t trust any news outlet any more. Not one single news outlet believes in the Edward Murrow philosophy that the news must be impartial. It seems to be the merging of:
1. News programs are now universally viewed by the media outlets as “entertainment”. Meaning that the goal is to grab eyeballs and hold them with shock and emotion. Compelling Intellectual Stories no longer exist.
2. Journalism as a profession has become No longer a profession with high ethical standards, but voices of opinion and no attempt at fair and balanced, regardless of the leaning.
3. The pay scale in journalism has spiraled downward so that there are no longer older staff with years of experience that gives them Insight and wisdom. Everything is poorly written, poorly researched, and not fact-checked or corroborated before publishing. The links between the data and “what it means” is so far off the mark or totally absent that it is disgusting.
