...the car is probably in excellent shape. They sell off anything that isn't mechanically or cosmetically in great shape. You hear about Carmax's inspection criteria, but dealers do the same when choosing cars they want to put on their used car lots. They offload everything else. It's not saying other used cars dealers are bad, but you just never know what you're getting.

That's why dealers and Carmax charge more for used cars than you see on the "regular" used car market.
