Lounge question.

So when I sign the stack of papers at the doctors office. Do any of them say that if I sue the doctor for over billing me “I” am liable for his legal fees if I lose?

Back story......

Back in April doctors office called to reschedule an appointment, obviously Covid related. I asked the scheduler about my med refills. Normally I just notify the pharmacy. We also rescheduled for September.

2 days later my pharmacy notified me I have a refill ready.

A month later I get a bill for a $60 co-pay for a virtual appointment.

I guess I made the mistake of ignoring it.

September appointment happened. Routine. Saw doctor. Made my co-pay and nobody said anything about an outstanding balance.

This past Friday I get a bill from a collection agency for $60.

I called the DRs office ....well Baylor Medical (billion dollar+company)....and they claim that the doctor had to review the Rx and they billed my insurance, and I’m due a co-pay. They billed my insurance $150ish & I’m due the $60 co-pay.

The person I spoke to told me they would review and call me back next week.

I checked my credit (800’s) and saw nothing regarding a collection agency.

Today I go to a large department store chain. I’m offered $100 off if I open an account. I fill out the paperwork and I’m declined.

Go to my Experian account and my credit says 800’s, and I owe about $2600 in revolving credit & my mortgage. That’s it.

All I can think of is there’s another layer of the credit report & there’s the collection.

Now I’m pissed & want to go after the doctors office. Even if the filing fee for small claims court is $200.

Probably way too much info.....but I’m pissed.
