When was the last time you check Equifax and Transunion?

Credit card company may use one of those, and it could be unrelated to the doctor bill. I am surprised the doctor would refer you to a collection agency without sending you a second bill the following month. Thought I saw that the major credit agencies were waiving the "only one free report per year" this year due to COVID. If so, it would be pretty painless to check.
