It is possible he knew he had DQed and that affected his swim. It is also
possible it did not. You said it was obvious he false started. I did not see it, but I believe you. In that case, I agree it seems likely it negatively affected his time. If he had finished third and Manoff had finished eighth, then Tech would have had 27 more points. If that had happened, it also looks like NCSU would have lost a point in the 200 free. Just based on that and assuming there were no other ripple effects, it looks like Tech would have finished one point behind NCSU for ninth (and ahead of UVA). Of course, I wonder if other teams had DQs that cost them points. I am not sure. Again, congratulations to the team on finishing 11th.
I am not sure what we will revisit about this discussion next year. The circumstances will be different. The top four were all seniors. I wonder how many of them will be back. Regardless, I hope Ramadan wins it.
As an aside, if Grant Holloway had gone to Tech, Tech would have won the indoor T&F championship a few years ago (instead of finishing 4th).
