...it is EXTREMELY troubling that a passionately-stated dissenting opinion could be labeled as "erratic" behavior that somehow poses a security threat. It's not a stretch of the imagination to extrapolate that to a non-university setting wherein one group can essentially squash all opposition by having dissenters labeled as threats to their safety.

If the plaintiff actually made real threats, then there's not much of a story here, and he probably deserved his consequences. But if his "aggressive" opposition to the professor's presentation is really what's at the heart of this situation, then that is incredibly troubling. UVa needs to produce the alleged threats, or it's going to look awfully suspicious. And if the university is actually manipulating the facts here, then shame on them - they've already been the recipient of such malpractice (the Rolling Stone "rape culture" article), and it sure caused them a lot of trouble. They should be better than that.
