Not sure. And I'm not predicting it. But to take a stab at your question:


If you look at the SEC network for instance. They might just stick to what brings the network money. Football, men's basketball, and baseball and maybe softball. You know, stuff people actually watch in the South. In those sports, they wouldn't need to add any schools because I think all schools in the conference have these sports already to make for a nice competitive group. And let's face it. Most of the SEC programing is about football in the offseason anyway. Paul Finebaum, retro games, Spring Games, etc.

I am thinking about sports and conferences where they don't have many members: like the ACC in wrestling. Or maybe the B1G for lacrosse. and plenty of other examples. They could invite other schools and given them a proportional cut of the TV money. Or they could just bail on putting the sport on TV if it brings no value (viewers) and cut the sport lose to play more regional competition.
